VERA CASTANEDA

I’m a writer and editor based in Los Angeles.

I previously worked as a staff writer for TimesOC, a publication of the Los Angeles Times, where I reported on arts, entertainment, lifestyle and social issues in Orange County. I held multiple job positions at L.A. Times and my work appeared in Calendar, Lifestyle, Metro and Sports sections of the paper.

I’ve also written and edited grant proposals and freelance branded content such as copy for apps, videos, websites, blogs, newsletters and print marketing materials for Cal State University, Northridge and Momentum Solutions Team clients like USC, Bloom, Puente Learning Center, DIY Girls and SoCal CAN.

I graduated from Cal State Northridge with a bachelor’s in literature and a minor in journalism.

I’m available for freelance writing, editing, research and marketing projects. To get in touch, email me at castaneda.writes@gmail.com.
